ഐ.എന്.എ. പോരാളിയായിരുന്ന ലക്ഷ്മി പാണ്ഡ ഇന്നലെ ദില്ലിയിലെ AIIMS വച്ച് അന്തരിച്ചു. തന്റെ ജീവിതകാലം മുഴുവന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്ന കേന്ദ്രസര്ക്കാരിന്റെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമര പെന്ഷന് അനുവദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അറിയിപ്പ് വളരെ വൈകിയാണ് അവരെ തേടി എത്തിയത്, ഒരാഴ്ച മുമ്പ് ആശുപത്രിയില് വച്ച്.
(രണ്ടാഴ്ചമുമ്പ് ലക്ഷ്മി പാണ്ഡയെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതുമ്പോള് ഇത്രവേഗം അവര് ഈ നന്ദികെട്ട ജനതയെ വിട്ടുപോകുമെന്ന് ഓര്ത്തില്ല!)

I saw this post in the blog very late.Two months ago my daughter was telling me that we must do something for Lakshmi Panda and protest against the cruel state.Right now when I type this, my daughter is asleep and if she comes to know about this she would have wept. I interviewed Captain Lakshmi for Mathrubhumi two years ago and my daughter was also with me- just to say that is how she knows a little about these people.
Hurray to a woman who had seen the toughest times of independence struggle.
